Japan is open to tourism again, and what better time to host the first famil visit to Okinawa in three years. Antonio Khattar, The Walshe Group’s Account Manager for Okinawa Tourism, has just returned from escorting a small group of travel product managers to the region, and shares his experience here with LATTE.

Okinawa is a unique part of Japan, completely different to any other part of the country. For centuries, the Ryukyu Kingdom was the crossroads of many cultures as they passed through on their trading routes and this influence has made the local culture here unlike anything else your clients may have experienced on any previous trips to Japan.

Okinawa Tourism hosted a select group of media this week to a very hands-on (and as it turns out feet-on!) cooking masterclass at Sydney Cooking School. Representing Okinawa Tourism was Sonia Holt and Antonio Khattar of The Walshe Group.

Halekulani Okinawa, the second Halekulani hotel, has this week opened for reservations for guests arriving 26 July, 2019.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Berjaya Okinawa Development Co. Ltd  have revealed plans for a new development on the island of Okinawa, Japan. The project will debut as part of the development’s master plan as Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Okinawa.
