Silversea Cruises resumed operation in Australian waters last weekend after a more than two year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic. Silver Explorer broke the silence, setting off on a 10-day exploration of the Kimberley coast from Darwin on Saturday 4 June 2022.

Silversea Cruises and Darwin Port conducted a plaque exchange to signify Silver Explorer’s maiden call in Darwin last week, as the luxury cruise line marked its long-awaited return to Australian waters after more than two years.

Silversea Cruises will operate its 2022/23 Antarctica season aboard three ice-class expedition ships from Puerto Williams, Chile. Silver Cloud, Silver Wind and Silver Explorer will each operate from Puerto Williams next season, building on a successful debut for Silver Explorer from the port over the recent White Continent deployment.

Silversea Cruises’ Silver Explorer has relaunched expedition cruising to Antarctica, setting sail from her new departure port of Puerto Williams in Chile on 10 November. Silver Cloud joined her fleetmate in Antarctica a few days later, sailing from Punta Arenas in Chile, on 14 November.

Silversea Cruises has unveiled its 2022/23 Kimberley program aboard Silver Explorer. Voyages range from 10- to 32-days duration, operating roundtrip from Darwin, one-way between Darwin and Broome (and vice-versa) and Darwin to Fremantle.

Silversea Cruises has confirmed it will deploy three ships – Silver Cloud, Silver Wind and Silver Explorer – to Antarctica for the 2021/22 season. The news comes after the ultra-luxury cruise line struck a deal with Chilean authorities to operate from Punta Arenas for its upcoming season. Silver Cloud and Silver Wind will cruise from Punta Arenas, while Silver Explorer will operate, as scheduled, from Puerto Williams from November 2021.
