After a 4-day, 3-night immersion in Greater Kruger, Adventure World’s ‘finer things’ famil – part of South African Tourism’s Mega Lekker Escape – landed in Cape Town from Hoedspruit for a four-night deep dive.

South African Tourism is currently hosting the second annual instalment of its ‘Mega Lekker Escape’ famil for travel advisors from Australia and New Zealand, culminating at Sun City in North West Province. As was the case last year, the 2025 destination showcase has more than 100 travel advisors and media split into smaller groups which have explored the seven provinces of South Africa, hosted by Africa specialist wholesalers.

Adventure World, in partnership with South African Tourism (SAT), is currently hosting two groups of travel advisors on trips around South Africa as part of SAT’s ‘Mega Lekker Escape’. LATTE is thrilled to be joining one of the groups, travelling on a ‘finer things’ itinerary that’s been expertly crafted by Adventure World’s South Africa and Middle East Product Manager, Sam Van Eldik.

Mouths were masked but thousands of eyes were smiling at Africa’s Travel Indaba in Durban this week, back after a two-year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

South Africa attracted more than 133 000 arrivals from Australasia last year, and to further tap into this important source market, South African Tourism recently hosted 52 travel agents from the region on a mega-famil that took place across all nine provinces.

Thursday 18 July marked Mandela Day and to commemorate the occasion, South African Tourism invited a number of its trade partners and supporters to donate their time and cook meals for those less fortunate at OzHarvest in Sydney.

Add one more travel segment that Forbes Travel Guide (“FTG”) is now affording its star rating: river cruises.
