Sustainability is a big word – particularly when it comes to travel. But one thing is certain: the more mindful and responsible we are when we travel, the smaller our negative footprint.

Switzerland ranks at the top of international rankings in the area of sustainability, but this is too little known by visitors. In the future, Switzerland Tourism intends to develop Switzerland from a “hidden champion” to the most sustainable travel destination in the world.

No other country, whose name at the slightest of mentions, conjures up more images of pristine landscapes depicting majestic mountains reflected on mirror-like lakes, soft dreamy meadows and charming fairytale-like villages than Switzerland.
