Albatros Expeditions’ second Ulstein X-Bow hulled ship, Ocean Albatros, has successfully completed sea trials ahead of its service entry, flagged for May 2023.

SunStone Ships, the company utilising the distinctive Ulstein-design bow on the hull of expedition ships it charters to the likes of Aurora Expeditions and Albatros Expeditions, is on the cusp of announcing a new series of up to 10 vessels.

Albatros Expeditions is winding back the capacity of its new expedition ships, Ocean Victory and the yet-to-sail Ocean Albatros.

Aurora Expeditions has confirmed its new – and second – purpose-built expedition ship, Sylvia Earle, will make its debut voyage on the Subantarctic Safari from 4-20 November 2022. The ship will be christened by its namesake, renowned marine biologist, oceanographer and explorer Dr. Sylvia Earle, prior to making its way to the wildlife havens of South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.

Albatros Expeditions has released the first internal images of its newest vessel, Ocean Victory, delivered in November 2021.

Aurora Expeditions’ second new-build vessel, Sylvia Earle, has successfully completed its sea trials in China. The trials were held over five days in the South China Sea and were used to test Sylvia Earle’s systems and technology.

Vantage Deluxe World Travel has christened the company’s first ocean-going small-ship, Ocean Explorer, in Boston. Along with Vantage Founder & Chairman, Henry R. Lewis and local dignitaries, the ship’s Godmothers, Patricia Lewis (wife of Mr. Lewis) and Vice President of Worldwide Operations, Deirdre Dirkman, attended the ceremony.

Albatros Expeditions has committed to deploying its brand new vessel Ocean Victory to Antarctica for the 2021/22 season.

Shipbuilder Ulstein has confirmed the expedition cruise vessel, Ocean Victory, will undergo sea trials this month.

Lindblad Expeditions marked another major milestone as the hull of National Geographic Resolution, the line’s second polar new-build, arrived at Ulstein Shipyard in Ulsteinvik Norway last weekend, following the construction of the main hull steelwork at CRIST S.A. in Gydnia, Poland.

Victory Cruise Lines is adding a fourth vessel to its fleet of ships, to be delivered in September 2022. The cruise line is a division of American Queen Steamboat Company.

Shipbuilder Ulstein has announced that the sea trials for the next Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic ship were successfully carried out last weekend.
